 ATA Carnet? (CRITICAL READ ME!!!)

This shipment is traveling internationally under an ATA Carnet, which is a special customs document that allows temporary import and export of equipment without paying duties or taxes—as long as everything listed returns exactly as it left.

Think of the carnet like a passport for the trophy kit. Just like a person needs all their documents to get home, the trophy kit needs every listed item to return in order to clear customs on the way back.
This cargo will travel from the U.S. to Sweden, then by truck to Paris, and then back to the U.S. from Paris.
Because of this:

  • Nothing listed on the carnet can be lost, replaced, or discarded.
  • Do not throw away the pallet, wood cage, packaging, or hardware.
  • All items must return in the same condition and quantity.

Missing items can cause major fines, delays, and customs penalties for the shipper. If something is lost or missing, customs may treat it as if it was sold or abandoned in that country. That can trigger taxes, fines, and legal paperwork—and in our case, the U.S. consulate will get involved to help resolve the situation. This causes major delays and headaches for everyone.

Treat all packing materials and hardware as part of the shipment. Even things that look like “just packaging” may be required for the return trip and for customs verification.

EVERYTHING THAT WAS INCLUDED IN THE PARCEL NEEDS TO BE RETURNED TO THE UNITED STATES IN THE EXACT STATE IT WAS RECEIVED (With the exception of the blue Shrink Wrap and Poly-Banding). OTHERWISE THERE WILL BE STRICT PENALTIES AND THE US CONSULATE WILL BECOME INVOLVED.
