The challenge

Bring a champion's weapon to a fan fest at full scale.

The spear had to match Xin Zhao's updated in-game design, stand on its own for fans to photograph, and travel to the venue in pieces.

The approach

Starting from Riot's model, Hoku engineered the spear for printing in sections that assemble precisely, sanded and painted it, sewed the pennant, welded a custom base, and weathered the finish. After the event the spear went on display at the Riot Games campus.
