Velkhana Armor for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
An official Velkhana armor set built with cosplayer Vampy for Capcom USA to launch Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, debuted at the Iceborne booth at San Diego Comic-Con 2019.

The challenge
Turn an elder dragon into a wearable launch costume.
Velkhana's armor is built from ice crystal forms that had to read as frozen and translucent, stay wearable for a full convention day on a booth, and photograph cleanly under both show floor and studio lighting.
The approach
Hoku modeled and printed the armor from the in game design, cast the crystal elements in clear tinted resin, built the layered crown and shoulder pieces on a lightweight harness, and fitted and finished the set with Vampy in the weeks before the show.
