Hearthstone Death Knight Crown
A custom Death Knight themed crown built by Hoku Props as the Best in Show award for the Hearthstone Death Knight cosplay contest, with category plaques for Armor, Needlework, Death Knight, and Goblin Craft.
The challenge
Make an award that belongs in the world it celebrates.
The crown had to read as a Hearthstone Death Knight object at contest distance and in close photography, and hold up as a keepsake after the event.
The approach
Hoku designed the crown from the source material, then modeled, fabricated, and finished it as a presentation piece on its own base, alongside four cast-medallion category plaques.
