Cosplay Central Crown Championships Awards

The crown and medal sets for the Cosplay Central Crown Championships, the cosplay competition ReedPop runs across Emerald City Comic Con, C2E2, Florida Supercon, New York Comic Con and MCM London. Hoku has designed and built the awards each year since 2023.

The challenge

One award system, five shows, every year.

The awards had to carry a single identity across five conventions and a global final, survive being handed out on stage dozens of times a year, and come back fresh each season with new category and placement medals.

The approach

Hoku designed the crown and the medal family, sculpted and printed the masters, cold cast and hand finished the medals, and painted the crown in house. The 2023 medals were fabricated with HDC Fabrication from Hoku designs; from 2024 the full set has been built in the Hoku shop, with presentation boxes for the winners.
