The challenge

Make a book that was never designed to be a book.

The Grimoire exists in game as a floating object with no weight, no hinge and no rules about how its parts meet. Turning it into something a person can hold meant resolving every seam, joint and light path that the game model never had to answer for.

The approach

Hoku modelled the tome from the in-game asset, printed and finished the shell in aged steel and gold, sculpted the skull and hand elements, and ran internal lighting so the teal glow reads in a dark room without washing out the metal.
